Motherless Brooklyn

Lionel Essrog is a lonely private detective suffering from Tourette’s Syndrome during the 1950’s. Armed with only a few clues and his obsessive mind, he works tirelessly to solve his friend’s murder. In the process, he unravels the mystery of the closely guarded secrets that could tear the entire city apart.

Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Willem Defoe, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw star in this gritty film noir period piece. This is only the second time that Norton himself has taken on the director’s role. The film is based on the 1999 novel of the same title by Jason Lethem.
