The corruption of the English crown prompts a revolt from one of its own. Robin of Loxley, a war-hardened crusader/nobleman and his commander, a Moor named Little John, steal from the rich and give to the poor in their audacious and well-choreographed exploits. Add in a dash of timeless love story, and we have a compelling re-telling of the famous robber-hero.
Taron Egerton (Kingsman), Jamie Foxx (Django, Ray), and Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies) star with director Otto Bathurst, known for Netflix series Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror. The film was released 110 years after the first Robin Hood film, Robin Hood and His Merry Men (1908), making the title character one of the oldest heroes of the big screen.
