The Lighthouse

This is the hypnotic story of two keepers in an isolated island lighthouse in the 1890’s. Their decline into hallucinatory insanity leads them to confront their worst nightmares.

Starring Willem Defoe and Robert Pattinson, this psychological horror thriller will lead the viewer down a path of depravity. Director Robert Eggers leads the film with physically and emotionally demanding performances by the cast. Very loosely based on true events, it was also influenced by the seafaring writing of Herman Melville and supernatural tales of H.P. Lovecraft and Algernon Blackwood.
